IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN OUR CONGREGATION…
…there are three ways you can do this.
1. By profession of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. By reaffirmation of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
3. By transfer of your church membership from another Christian Church.
If you want to join with us, it is your responsibility to make this known to our Pastor or one of our Ruling Elders. We will then provide you with a small booklet that gives some history of the Presbyterian Church in America, our form of church government and the vows you would be asked to affirm if you join with us. The most critical part of joining our church is your giving us a credible profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. You must meet with our Church Session (called Ruling Elders) and give your testimony of how you became a Christian and must give your willingness to assent to our vows of membership.
Below are the five vows for Back Creek Church membership...
1.Do you acknowledge yourselves to be sinners in the sight of God, justly deserving His displeasure, and without hope save in His sovereign mercy?
2.Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel?
3.Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes the followers of Christ?
4.Do you promise to support the Church in its worship and work to the best of your ability?
5.Do you submit yourselves to the government and discipline of the Church, and promise to study its purity and peace?
